Character name: Akira Kurusu
Age: 17 (i forgot the game encompasses a year and that normal humans grow old)
Canon: Persona 5
Canon point: Post-game (true ending)
History: Wiki link

Three key adjectives: resolute, vibrant, does extra count as a trait—if not, reckless.

Influential Events:

KAMOSHIDA PALACE: His first morning at Shujin Academy, Akira meets Ryuji Sakamoto. The two wander into the Metaverse and a strange castle, where a self-declared king almost kills them. Luckily, Akira’s Persona awakens in time to protect them.
While his status as a delinquent from getting between a drunkard and a woman who was being harassed hints at his strong sense of justice, this event exemplifies it. At the start of the game, Akira sticks to laying low once he arrives in Tokyo. His agenda includes leading an honest student life, avoiding trouble, and keeping others at an arms-length based on his lukewarm dialogue options. Ryuji was only a stranger who definitely looked like trouble with his bleach blond hair, but he couldn’t stand back and watch the execution play out in front of him. Bam!! Arsene!! Bloody Mask!!! There are dire consequences with stepping out of line, but threats on his livelihood don’t stop him from standing up for those who can’t fight back. His encounter with the drunk man may have turned his world upside-down, but he sticks true to his ideals.
BUFFET TIME: After Kamoshida’s confession, our heroes (Ann, Ryuji, Morgana, and Akira at the time) treat themselves to a fancy buffet. While the food was delicious, they felt out of place with all the cranky and snobby adults. Realizing they can use their powers to help those who otherwise cannot help themselves, Akira and the others agree to continue their work as phantom thieves. Although they have some concerns about the future, their firm resolve pushes them forward into their lives as the Phantom Thieves of Hearts.
This event also reaffirms his sense of justice, but more importantly this is where he finds a place to belong. Prior to the events leading up to this point, he’s cast off as a pariah by not only his guardian, but his peers and teachers as well. He had no place to call home and no one to rely on, which reflects in his standoffish dialogue options at the beginning of the game. Gradually, he opens up and lets his personality shine in the presence of friends and founded family. A warm and accepting environment lets him show more sides to himself from dorky to cocky, sometimes he drops some sarcasm, too. Without this place, his personality would continue to be suppressed by society.
HAVE YOU SEEN MY CAT, A POLL: Through their own personal investigation, and through the polls from their Phan-Site, all roads pointed to Okumura as their next target. Sparking a heated debate, Ryuji believes they should capitalize this opportunity to clear their names due to Principal Kobayakawa’s death, but the rest of the thieves are reluctant to act on public opinion. Between insults between Ryuji and Morgana on top of the team’s indecisiveness, Morgana officially leaves the Phantom Thieves.
As the leader, Akira could have guided them, but he doesn’t. Instead, he chooses to value everyone’s opinion equally - their concerns need to be voiced because they are a team. It’s a level-headed decision, but backfires when insecurities and impulses have been bottled up and explode. Like his group of friends, he’s a teenager with little experience in being a vigilante, and he’s susceptible by popularity and fame, of which he is eventually overwhelmed by. He shares the blame in losing sight of why they were changing the hearts of the corrupt. Proper justice should have been the priority, but other motivations and intents skewed their perception of what was important. The Phantom Thieves’ division from public opinion elicits the turning point where they reevaluate and reassure themselves of their goals and stance. All of this shows that Akira can have doubts, stray off the path, and still circle back to his path.
SHIDO PALACE: The Phantom Thieves infiltrate Shido's Palace to change his heart, but are stopped by Akechi, who reveals he's the Black Mask and behind the mental shutdowns. Akechi explains how he came to work for Shido in order to get revenge on him, and that he'll do whatever it takes to accomplish his own goals. They defeat Akechi and give him a chance to take down Shido with them.
Specifically in this event, he tells Akechi that they are rivals and it’s never too late, but Akechi remains chained to his past. Though the Phantom Thieves don’t forgive Akechi, they give him a chance to atone and join them to beat Shido. Akechi and Akira serve an antithesis to each other. Akechi stagnates, while Akira grows. Akechi is also chained to his past, while Akira won’t let his past or emotions define nor dictate his worth or actions. In turn, he gives others the same treatment and sees them beyond their history. Akira gives people chances as seen with his confidants (another example is Mishima) and approach in stealing hearts (unanimous vote on no killing, etc.), and he extends this to Akechi. He does not do this completely out of mercy, but with patience and an open mind. While he upholds justice, he also believes others should have the opportunity to repent and redeem themselves.
DECISIONS MATTER: It is revealed that the malevolent god has been masquerading as Igor and stringing Akira along in its game - one he never stood a chance at winning. The Meta-Nav and Metaverse were both tools used by the fake god to prove the foolishness of humanity to Akira. Yaldabaoth gives Akira a choice. Yield and the Phantom Thieves return to their glory, the world continues, but under his rule. Or be annihilated. Akira chooses to defy the god.
The choice of siding with the god with the promise of bringing back their world as they remember is tempting enough. Despite initially thinking that the Phantom Thieves were done, disappearing and losing everything, he held onto his beliefs. Even during the chaos, he could get back up and continue on with his ideals, pulling everyone back together from the edge with a conversation at a time. Akira’s perseverance serves as a beacon for his team and those around him. Confidants often comment on how they admire him for living life by his own rules, going at his own pace, and being true to himself no matter what anyone says. There are several events prior that show his steadfast tenacity, but this is the final peak.

Chosen path: Cleric
3 Abilities:
1) Persona (Satanael | absorb curse and block bless, no resists because that seems overpowered) - Skill: Riot Gun
2) Zone of Truth
3) Channel Divinity
Why this path?: Because Akira would think he would be some non-support role, but it doesn't need to be his life now. Instead of being babysat, he must become the babysitter and leave the spotlight up to others. It probably won't last long and he'll put himself in dangerous situations, but hey!! It'll be fun!!! Life lessons! On a more serious note, with the Persona’s theme of bringing in gods as creations of man’s psyche and desires, I would like to play around with Akira linking up with an actual god and see how he fares. It’ll probably be a mess.
