A hobby would be most accurate. It keeps my mind from going toothless.

I can teach algebra to calculus and beyond, though more advanced mathematics likely won't be an issue for you unless you decide to pursue civil engineering. I do not teach to any tests, and I believe there is a special circle of hell for educators who do so.

have you ever thought about coaching math teams for competitions? that sounds pretty stimulating.

I needed to ensure my son was getting the best possible education. It is the only thing that seems to merit attention in this city.

Perhaps. I've yet to look into it, or found enough students to qualify.

that's very responsible of you. i know some parents don't have the time to really partake in their children's education.

sorry, i wouldn't say i'm a math person, but i'm sure you can probably find students that have a passion for subject. are you against maybe going through the university to start up a club?

... are there protocols and rules for that?

i imagine it would be a great time killer and you would be able to find suitable students that way.

only people that like math would want to join a math team. solid plan, right? some competition also give out prize money so that's incentive, too.
