[ Both cups were Christmas gifts so thankfully, he can't take credit for either. The prospect of watching sad movies is sort of... eh... Minato downs half his cup and leans back into the couch, letting the sugar replace what he'd lost in blood. ]
[ Hello. Welcome back, senpai. Akira scratches his cheek as he looks over to him, finally being able to relax after that short fright earlier. It doesn't look like he lost too much blood.
Well, he'll see if Minato stays conscious long. ]
It's not about crying, it's about feeling. I guess it doesn't need to be sad movies, any type would be fine.
[ Depending on what type of movie they might put on, the chance is pretty high that he'll fall asleep even without the blood loss and lack of caffeine in his system. Feeling is also an ...eh... topic, Minato shifting uneasily when he remembers how he dumped that entire revelation onto his sister about how he can't really feel much of anything emotionally, while she sat there feeling too much. Akira doesn't need to mediate this for him, so there goes the rest of his juice and he stands to refill it. ]
[ He doesn't know too much about Minato's lack of emotions, so it's more that he's finding a reason to bond with the other boy. Movies, like stories, bring out different sides of people and can bring them together through mutual understanding or knowledge, so he's curious. It'll be fun?
Those picks are good—he practically lights up. ]
I like both, though I have to ask if you've watched Meerkat Manor...?
[ So is communal dining, but no one is judging. Akira is also very much a movie watcher... Or at least he used to be until Restrospec happened and screwed up his lifestyle. ]
Yeah. It has some interesting narration that doesn't take away the documentary's novelty. Are you in?
[ Online classes, yo. Minato is also juggling three jobs on top of that, but he can probably shuffle some time around to leave an entire weekend free. ]
We can eat in front of the screen, and take bathroom breaks during every four credits at the end of the episode as needed.
[ It’s okay. Akira understands the busy life, though he can keep weekends clear if asked. That sounds fine and all, but he’s just wondering about details. ]
It takes time to cook unless we’re going to live off of cup ramen and hot pockets.
[ !!! What kind of stuff can Minato make, anyway? But... It's nothing compared to Elliot's leftovers. Hmmm. He's sure that the two, whatever differences, can at least be civil around each other. ]
My place is available if you're fine with it. Sometimes it gets loud and people interrupt, though.
Cooking is something you pick up when you live on your own. [ Or toddle around cooking-oriented family members for all your formative years. His cooking definitely doesn't compare to Elliot's; they're just what he remembers helping his grandmother prep for meals when he was growing up. ]
Are your roommates very rowdy?
[ He knows Elliot lives with him. Doesn't know about Yusuke, although Minato wouldn't think he's loud either. He definitely does not want to meet NPC Ryoji ever. ]
[ It's okay. Akira is only a cooking novice, but curry is slowly turning into his specialty. It works with his mastery in coffee—his roommates though.
Why don't you want to meet NPC Ryoji, Minato? He's great and makes great origami hats for their cats. Who wouldn't want to meet him?! Stroking his chin, he's not sure how to go about this. ]
Elliot and Yusuke are easy to handle, but I would say that Ryoji, Tuuri, and myself are the rowdy ones in comparison.
[ Minato lights up for the briefest of moments. He likes Elliot('s food), Yusuke('s voice), and Tuuri. NPC Ryoji, on the other hand, visits Expressive every single day at the start of Minato's shift regardless of his change in work schedule at the start of every month and watches him work through the shift, so he could do without that guy. Then there's Akira. ]
That's easy. Just ask everybody to keep still and quiet if they want to watch. We'll keep the volume low and subtitles on.
[ Apparently, people can be surprisingly agreeable if you use your words. He learned this from Elliot. ]
Or we can watch it here. It's just Jamie, Kitty, and me, so that's less people to manage. Your choice.
If we keep the volume low, people have to stay quiet in order to hear.
[ It's not just for movies; it's how he interacts with people too, never really raising his voice in an argument so that the other person has to calm down to respond to whatever he's mumbling. Keeps everything at his pace. ]
If it's okay with the rest of your roommates. I'll be in your care for a weekend.
[ Akira isn't one for raising his voice, either, but this is a different situation entirely. Take action and assert yourself or else you'll never have a chance. Humming thoughtfully, he's sure his roommates would be courteous enough. ]
I'm sure it'll be fine. [ NO PROBLEMS. ] I'll be in your care today, then.
[ After placing the mug on a surface, he plops onto the couch to lounge... If that means having to use Minato as a cushion, then so be it. ]
[ If they don't want to watch, all the better; they can turn the volume up and leave the subtitles on.
TODAY, THOUGH..... weren't you going to pick up a jacket and then leave, Akira... But it's okay, he can lie on Minato's lap if he's brave enough. If that's the case, Minato's just going to rest his cup on Akira's forehead and have him be thankful it's juice and not hot coffee. ]
[ He was, but he's tired now that he arrived on his dragon and healed his apathetic senpai. Odd enough, he stays completely still and keeps the cup balanced on his forehead—all with his eyes closed. ]
I am. I have napping on Minato's couch etched into my schedule.
[ This trial is like not being able to get up with a cat pinning down one's lap... Minato waits until Akira stops moving, and then lets go of the cup, leaving it at his mercy. What to do about somebody trying to sleep on him. If it were the other way around, he'd appreciate being left alone to take this well deserved nap, so...
He leans over to tug a couch cushion out from under Akira's legs, pick his cup back up, and smother dear kohai's face with the cushion.
[ Minato... If you think Akira hasn't trained himself in every single way so he can flirt with death, then you're wrong. His brow does furrow when he feels the cushion plastered to his face, but he can hold his breath for quite some time when the going gets tough.
[ This isn't something he should be training for!! Minato keeps the pressure on for all of ten seconds before letting up, because he's weak and knows that dying by suffocation is the one way he doesn't want to die. The last of the juice gets drunk and the cup set on the table as far as he can reach without rolling Akira off his lap, and then he settles back and leans his elbows on Akira's stomach. ]
I've got homework... And this is my couch. If you want to sleep, my room's at the end of the hall, door to your right.

Never seen it. Is that the one you want to watch?

Yeah. It has some interesting narration that doesn't take away the documentary's novelty. Are you in?

Sure. How long is it?

I'm pretty sure there are thirteen or so episodes per season... And there are—[ Squints. ]—four seasons?

We could finish all of them in about a day or two...?

I do live here, you know. I can cook beforehand and have leftovers to heat up. Or we can go to your place and eat Elliot's leftovers.
[ He's keen on that second option tbh ]

I didn't know you could cook.
