[ He nearly forgot about this considering he has other stuff to do, but he remembers instantly when he sees the name show up. Accepting the call, he stares at the screen— ]
[ Minato looks from Akira, to somewhere off camera... something metal clatters off screen and the screen shakes a little... but here comes the tears. There's not a lot, and his face remains otherwise impassive, but there. Crying on cue, just as requested. ]
[ That was the first choice, and why he needed that time to get home, but with that option out the window, he went with the next best thing: he raises his hand in greeting: the palm is sliced open, and it's bleeding pretty heavily. ]
[ Akira Kurusu, the man who has cut his own hand to prove that Yosuke's healing is useful, then proceeds to cut his hand a couple of more times in the future, along with shoot himself to prove a point, is greatly appalled by Minato's recklessness. Gawking, the camera starts shaking and going to places because he's preparing to leave.
In passing, Minato might see Akira's cat who only gives a judgmental look. Where are you going, son? ]
Where do you live? I'm coming over.
[ YOU FOOL. The level of distress is ridiculous. ]
[ Minato knows well enough how to dress a wound, has been self treating injuries ever since they started piling up... pretty much when he first moved here. Recollé is terrible on one's sense of self-preservation, especially with magical healing available everywhere. ]
Do you have the crackers?
[ Expectant. Without giving an address yet. He wants those magical crackers, Akira. ]
[ What is wrong with you? Just because everyone can magically heal doesn't mean you can be reckless (says the hypocrite). The kitchen passes by and there's some rustling where he takes out some of the rice crackers Elliot made. While most people would pay for these, he gets them for free... Luckily these heal, too.
[ Minato gives a bloody fistpump at being able to eat Elliot's food again, and tells Akira the address— an apartment in Birch Hills, the door will be unlocked so just come in and leave your shoes at the entrance— then ends the call; he won't die of blood loss, probably, so no need to stay on the line. He also needs both hands to catch the cat and shut it inside his roommate's bedroom, and then go do some emergency first aid or something, as best he can with one hand. ]
[ Akira is so... Exhausted, but he gets there as fast as he can, foregoing transit, and taking his dragon instead. When he gets there, he opens the door in full swing and Kohryu is quick to take the apartment space, coiling (with breathing room, mind you) around Minato when he finds him. ]
I didn't mean it when I said you had to cry...
[ It takes him a minute to get there, but he pops the crackers into Minato's mouth with an exasperated sigh. ]
[ Minato's hanging out in the living room, with a makeshift tourniquet around his upper arm and his bleeding hand holding onto a small towel but not quite wrapped yet because he didn't expect Akira to be here so quickly. Nor for there to suddenly be a dragon in the room; he's glad he'd shuffled Kitty away elsewhere.
With his clean hand, he breaks the cracker and eats that half before speaking. ]
Got to tell me it's a joke if it's a joke.
[ That's what Akira taught him, right? He has not been taking this advice.
[ Is that cat really named Kitty... First Katkat, now Kitty? Kohryu continues to slither in the air, letting his whiskers taste the air. Eyes boring down at Minato, it examines him. Yes, you. You are the one—the brother. ]
I didn't think you would cut yourself to make it happen.
[ Though, realistically, Akira would do it, too. Maybe not to make himself cry, but other reasons. He'll leave the bag of rice crackers on a nearby table or stand. ]
[ Yes, but look, it's not Minato's cat and he's not the one who named it. Katkat was a homage; Kitty is just... Kitty.
And Minato is Minato, who eyes Kohryu as the Persona eyes him in return, watching his reflection change with the lighting of the room as the dragon circles around. He'd already said that he would do it, and he always does his best to keep his promises. For him, crying isn't something he's really done since he was a child; nothing emotional could evoke the response, so he went with physical pain instead. ]
There was another person who had a dragon like this. It healed us after we cut open our hands.
So if they made a promise to be good friends, Minato can make that happen? Either way, Akira squints at the mention of that. Only two other people have Kohryu, so he's making his assumptions. Would Yu randomly cut open his hands and have the dragon heal him?
... It must be Souji, right? ]
I don't think that warrants cutting open any hands. Who was it?
[ He looks over to Kohyu, expending some energy to heal Minato's hand. It comes with sparkles and a nice warm feeling that washes over both of them (party heal is strong). ]
[ Rather than "good friends," Minato's currently looking for "sledgehammer friends," but considering Akira's reaction to him cutting open his hand on the basis of a promise, he's not sure this'll be a good fit.
Cutting open their hands that other time was just as a necessity as this time, and like back then, Minato stares down at his hand and feels the throbbing pain subside, pulls the towel away to reveal unbroken skin and too much blood on the cloth that won't be returned to his body. ]
Don't know his name. Tall guy, [ though everybody is, compared to him; Minato raises his now healed hand about the twins' height and lets it hover there for a moment before letting it drop and start untying the tourniquet around his arm. ] silver hair. Bowlcut.
[ That's a distinctive enough description, he thinks, especially since Akira seems to have a guess at who it might be. ]
[ The dragon disappears when his job is done, giving Akira room to slide over and slump onto the couch cushion right beside Minato. Riding the dragon over and casting a spell took a lot out of him, so don't mind that he stretches his arms over the top and leans his head back.
Maybe it's best to kill both twins. That sounds like a good idea. Akira has left Yu alive far too long and killing Souji would hurt him, too. Sounds good. Yes. ]
Try to not do that too much, all right? It might have not been lethal, but I sure had a heart attack.
[ Does Akira get murderous when he's tired... Minato grabs the crackers again, and goes ahead and sticks one in Akira's mouth like he'd done to him before, and then wanders around the couch towards the kitchen while nibbling at his own cracker. ]
Unless somebody else needs me to cry, I've filled my stabbing quota for the month, so don't worry. Orange juice?
[ He'd offer something else, but they only have orange juice in the fridge at the moment. ]
[ Akira is always murderous, but it shows more when he's tired. Persona 5 kids need therapy. He's relaxing on the couch before he's assaulted by a cracked. He hacks once before nibbling on it. It takes his mind off of his murder plan. ]
Can't you cry by normal means...?
[ A STABBING is not normal. Hm. Akira would rather have tea, coffee, or water, but he's the question isn't "what would you like?" Munch munch munch. ]
Haven't cried in years. I think the last time it happened, an eyelash fell in my eye and I couldn't rub it out.
[ Pulling out eyelashes and poking himself doesn't sound as feasible when knives are so handy, but he'll consider it for next time, right now rummaging around pantry for cups to fill with juice. Minato's self-coffee ban has already started, so that won't ever be offered in this household anymore... It's too bad. He feels almost like crying when he looks at the words printed on the side of the mug he hands to Akira: "coffee -then- adulting" ]
Here.
[ His own cup is bright pink with the word "Leader" painted on the side. ]
